So when is the best time to start packing your hospital bag? Personally, I started packing for my 2 births from 37 weeks (even though I had a feeling they would be overdue), like everything to do with labour, you just never know so best to be ready than be taken by surprise. If anything it gives you a peace of mind and its ones less thing to worry about.
Where you give birth shouldn’t be too much of your concern (even if you plan a home birth), I say pack as though you are going into the hospital. Just a heads up, birth plan in most cases never usually goes completely as planned, so just be ready and open minded. Also, for home births the midwife should tell you of any additional items you might need e.g. birthing pool, but everything else will be similar to having an hospital birth.
Below are some items are I found useful preparing for my 2 sons, please note there are extensive lists around however, here at Mumspired we try to focus on essential items only.
